Welcome to the home page of the San Gregorio Creek Watermaster!

The San Gregorio Creek Stream System is located in coastal San Mateo County and encompasses approximately 52 square miles (33,300 acres). Tributaries originate in the Santa Cruz Mountains and drain through steep canyons before joining the mainstem San Gregorio Creek at the valley floor and flowing into a coastal lagoon at the Pacific Ocean.

In addition to the mainstem San Gregorio Creek, the stream system encompasses La Honda Creek, Alpine Creek, El Corte de Madera Creek, Harrington Creek, Bogess Creek, other smaller tributaries and many springs and ponds.

Stetson Engineers was appointed to the position of Watermaster for the San Gregorio Creek Stream System in August 2006 by the San Mateo County Superior Court (“Court”). Stetson Engineers administers the adjudicated surface water rights established under the Court’s 1993 Decree.  This website was created to provide additional access to the Watermaster and information regarding San Gregorio Creek and the water rights established by the Decree.
